Hockey Winnipeg’s High Performance Council is running a U13-U18 Preseason 4 x 4 Camp from Tuesday, September 2 to Thursday, Sept.11. Players can choose either side of the city to skate in.

Age Groups
U13 – 2013-2014
U15 – 2011-2012
U18 – 2008-2010

Specific dates & times for your age group skates will be posted in early August once teams are rostered on Team Snap, posted on the Hockey Winnipeg website and will be emailed to all participants.

U13AA Avros Host Arena – TBD
U13AA Ice Host Arena – Hockey for All Centre
U15AA Avros Host Arena – East End
U15AA Ice Host Arenas – River Heights & Varsity View
U18AA Avros Host Arena – Gateway
U18AA Ice Host Arena – St. Norbert

Cost is only $165 for skaters and $100 for goalies, on a first come first serve basis and includes your logoed Avros or Ice 4 x 4 jersey. The skates will be run by former Avros/Ice and current Bison players.

There will be 5 skates per player and the AA/AAA coaches will NOT be running or attending so parents or players don’t have to worry that they are being watched while they prepare for tryouts that will start Sept.12.

Hockey Winnipeg’s High-Performance Council is running the girls/women’s tryouts for Avros (East) & Ice (West)

from Friday, September 12 to Wednesday, September 24.

U13AA – 2013/14                             U15AAA – 2011/12                          U18AA – 2008-2010

Specific dates & times for your age group skates will be posted in early September once all players are rostered on Team Snap, posted on the Hockey Winnipeg AA/AAA website and will be emailed to all participants.

The breakdown of teams per zone is as follows:

U18 AAA – 1 team           U18AA – 1-2 teams                         U15 AAA – 3 teams                         U13 AA – 3 teams

The breakdown of areas for each zone for equivalent numbers will be as follows:

Avros – St. Vital, Transcona, St. Boniface, Lord Selkirk, Seven Oaks, River East

Ice – South Winnipeg, Fort Garry North, Assiniboine Park, St. James

Refund Policy:  If a player is released (regardless of the round they were released in), there will be NO REFUNDS provided.  If a player voluntarily leaves prior to release by AA or AAA, NO REFUNDS will be provided.  If a player withdraws before tryouts begin, a refund will be granted however, there will be an administration fee of $50.00 that is not refunded.  If the player is a no-show, NO REFUNDS will be granted.

Cost is $175 and spots are unlimited so you don’t have to register as soon as the online opens up. 

You can register for your local area hockey association on the Hockey Canada HCR after AA/AAA tryouts if you wish.  AA/AAA will be charging each area’s club fee to players that make a AA/AAA team and submitting it back to your area.

There will be a minimum of three skates per player before the first round of cuts, then three intra squad games followed by the second round of cuts and three exhibition games followed by finals cuts and team formations.

These skates will be run by the AA/AAA coaches and any parent head coaches will have a minimum of two non-parent evaluators as part of the process of player and team selection.

Hockey Winnipeg AA/AAA is seeking qualified applicants for Head Coach positions within our Girls’ U13 – U15, Women’s U18 AA and Women’s U18 AAA Programs. All coaching staff will be required to complete a mandatory and satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check (CAR) which is mandated by Hockey MB as well as a Criminal Record Check. If you have further questions about the selection process or you would like to further discuss your application, please contact development@hockeywinnipeg.ca.

Registration will open for Female U18 AAA Tryouts at the end of March. The Tryouts will be held at hockey for all centre. Registration will be open to 2008, 2009, and 2010 born Winnipeg female hockey players currently residing within the city.

Hockey Winnipeg’s Female Council is excited to host a Female Hockey Day for all female players participating in the following grassroots programs: U7 House League & Females from the First Shift Program.

All U7 female hockey players and Female First Shift participants (spots are limited, so sign up asap!) are invited to take part in a free 1-hour ice session at the Hockey For All Centre (formerly known as the Bell MTS Iceplex) on Monday, February 17th.

This event is an opportunity for female hockey players to engage and play alongside other female players in a fun and safe environment, while getting the experience of playing on an all-female team. The ice times will be instructed by strong female leaders in the hockey community and families will have an opportunity to learn more about the Female Hockey Programs being offered by their area associations.

The ice times will be held from 9:15am – 3:30pm on Monday, February 17th. All scheduled ice times will be confirmed and communicated through email by Wednesday, February 12th.
