Hockey Winnipeg is excited to offer its Recreational Hockey Program for the 2025-2026 season, designed for players looking for a fun, inclusive, and low-commitment way to enjoy the game. This once-a-week program focuses on skill development, small area games, and officiated games — all in a positive and supportive environment. The U11 Program (for birth years 2015 & 2016) will run every Saturday from October 18 to March 21 at St. Norbert Arena, with 1-hour sessions at either 11:00 AM or 12:15 PM. The U13 Program (for birth years 2013 & 2014) will take place at East End Arena during the same dates, with possible ice times at 3:45 PM or 5:00 PM. This program is a great way to play hockey without the high cost or intense time commitment, while promoting fun, development, and inclusion.
Hockey Winnipeg is looking to make the game more accessible. Donate your new or gently used hockey equipment at our office during regular business hours.
Pending appropriate inventory, this program will be available to all kids registered with Hockey Winnipeg for FREE.

Hockey Winnipeg’s High Performance Council is running a U13-U18 Preseason 4 x 4 Camp from Tuesday, September 2 to Thursday, Sept.11. Players can choose either side of the city to skate in.

Specific dates & times for your age group skates will be posted in early August once teams are rostered on Team Snap, posted on the Hockey Winnipeg website and will be emailed to all participants.

from Friday, September 12 to Wednesday, September 24.
U13AA – 2013/14 U15AAA – 2011/12 U18AA – 2008-2010
Specific dates & times for your age group skates will be posted in early September once all players are rostered on Team Snap, posted on the Hockey Winnipeg AA/AAA website and will be emailed to all participants.
The breakdown of teams per zone is as follows:
U18 AAA – 1 team U18AA – 1-2 teams U15 AAA – 3 teams U13 AA – 3 teams
The breakdown of areas for each zone for equivalent numbers will be as follows:
Avros – St. Vital, Transcona, St. Boniface, Lord Selkirk, Seven Oaks, River East
Ice – South Winnipeg, Fort Garry North, Assiniboine Park, St. James
Refund Policy: If a player is released (regardless of the round they were released in), there will be NO REFUNDS provided. If a player voluntarily leaves prior to release by AA or AAA, NO REFUNDS will be provided. If a player withdraws before tryouts begin, a refund will be granted however, there will be an administration fee of $50.00 that is not refunded. If the player is a no-show, NO REFUNDS will be granted.
Cost is $175 and spots are unlimited so you don’t have to register as soon as the online opens up.
You can register for your local area hockey association on the Hockey Canada HCR after AA/AAA tryouts if you wish. AA/AAA will be charging each area’s club fee to players that make a AA/AAA team and submitting it back to your area.
There will be a minimum of three skates per player before the first round of cuts, then three intra squad games followed by the second round of cuts and three exhibition games followed by finals cuts and team formations.
These skates will be run by the AA/AAA coaches and any parent head coaches will have a minimum of two non-parent evaluators as part of the process of player and team selection.

Other Important Information
- Camps are expected to fill quickly. A wait list will be created that people can register for. If when registering the camp is full, please register on the wait list. As spots do open up we will consult the wait list and reach out to ensure that the camps are full.
- A $20.00 admin fee may be applied for changes in registration or cancellations.

All coaching staff will be required to complete a mandatory and satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check (CAR) which is mandated by Hockey MB as well as a Criminal Record Check. The Hockey Winnipeg AAA/AA Council is accepting coaching applications for the 2025 – 2026 season. The positions are for “AAA” teams in the U15, U17 Prep and U18 Provincial leagues as well as the “AA” U13, U15 and U18 leagues. As well as being part of an outstanding hockey program, all of our AAA and AA coaches receive a generous Year End Honorarium, a semi-annual Travel Allowance, a AAA/AA Team Wear Allowance and full reimbursement of fees for required Coaching Qualification Courses and Seminars taken while coaching in the AAA/AA programs.
